Entrepreneur and fashion designer Florence Fineanganofo is a creative designer for her clothing brand Ta’ahine and has been designing clothes for about seven years.
Originally from Tonga and the Solomon Islands, the emerging fashion designer lives in Suva and is married with two children.
“I started my apparel design journey in 2015 by creating bespoke pieces for my clients,” she said.
In 2019, Ms. Fineanganofo joined Fiji Fashion Week as an emerging designer and later established her label Ta’ahine Clothing in 2021.
“Ta’ahine is a Tongan word meaning woman. I came up with this name because I specifically design women’s clothing and wanted a name that resonated with that, as well as representing where I come from.
“I created Ta’ahine in May 2021. It’s an online clothing company. My clothes are for independent young women who like to have fun, go on adventures, confident and very free-spirited.
She believes in creating very simple pieces for her clientele. Ms. Fineanganofo has scheduled her inaugural show for April 23 at the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Pacific Harbor this year.
“The Ta’ahine brand launch event is an opportunity I created to showcase my talent and creativity in the fashion industry and grow my business.”
The launch would also give her the opportunity to showcase her designs and allow her clientele to see her designs in person.
She said the launch will also create a space for young local models, photographers, makeup artists, artists to show off their talents.
Ta’ahine Fiji will lead a casting of models tomorrow at ANZ Stadium Lobby from 10am-12pm.
